What is the difference between a cloud server and shared hosting?

You get your own server environment at Cloud Provider, which is not shared with other customers. Other customers can not influence the performance of your server or the safety of your data in a negative way. Furthermore, you have more control over the server configuration, because you have root access to your server.

What is the difference between a cloud server and a VPS?

A cloud server does not have a fixed configuration like VPS packages do: you can select your ideal mix of CPU cores, memory, and disk space. Beside that, a cloud server does not depend on 1 physical server. If hardware fails, another server will take over automatically.

What is the difference between a cloud server and a dedicated server?

A cloud server is way more flexible that a dedicated server. You can add or remove CPU cores, memory, and disk space at any time - and you only pay for what you use. Cloud servers also do not have long term contracts, something that is very common for renting dedicated servers.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cloud Provider accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards. Dutch customers can also pay using direct debit. Payment using bank transfer is available on request for larger customers.

Which cloud server should I choose?

If you don't know which cloud server you need, we recommended starting with the smallest server. You can always resize your server later on.

Will I be charged for servers in a turned off state?

Yes. We keep the CPU cores, memory, and IP addresses reserved for you, and keep your data stored while a server is turned off. If you won't use the server for a longer period of time, then we recommend to create a snapshot image of your server. You can create a new server using this image later on.

How do I choose between paying hourly or monthly?

When creating a server, you can choose between paying per hour of per month. When paying monthly, the amount is charged upfront every month. When paying by the hour, the amount for the hours used is charged at the end of each month. Paying monthly is 10% cheaper than paying by the hour. If you plan to use the server for a longer period of time, then we recommended paying monthly. If you plan to use the server only a couple of hours or days, then paying by the hour is a better choice.

What happens if I exceed the bandwidth limit?

Each cloud server includes 1 TB (1000 GB) of bandwidth per month free of charge. If you exceed this limit, then additional bandwidth is charged at 2,5 eurocent per GB. Please note that only outgoing bandwidth is counted. Incoming bandwidth is free of charge at Cloud Provider.

Do you create backups of the cloud servers?

We create a free snapshot backup of all cloud servers every day. You can restore these backups yourself using our control panel. If needed, you can create additional snapshot backups. Storing these backups is charged at 2,5 eurocent per GB per month.

How many IP addresses do I get per cloud server?

Each cloud server is provisioned with 1 dedicated IPv4 address. You have the option to add additional IP addresses for 2 euro per month per IP address in our control panel. We will support IPv6 addresses in the near future.

Do I have console access to my cloud servers?

Yes, you can open the console for your servers using an HTML5-interface in our control panel.

Which operating systems and software are available for installation?

Can I use a control panel system?

Yes, you can install and use a control panel system like cPanel, Plesk, or DirectAdmin on a cloud server. You can easily purchase cPanel licenses for 10 euro per month per license within our portal. Plesk and DirectAdmin licenses are available from third parties.

Where and in which datacenter is your cloud located?

Our cloud is located in the AMS7 datacenter of Interxion in Schiphol-Rijk, nearby Amsterdam. This datacenter offers more than 7.300 square meters of server room and 13 MW electric power, and is designed to meet the highest possible standards of power, cooling, and security. Other cloud locations will be added in the near future.

What is the internet connectivity?

Our cloud platform has a fast and reliable connection to the internet thanks to our network provider Atom86. They offer us a mix of upstream providers like NTT, TeliaSonera, GTT and Init7, and peering to other providers on public internet exchanges like AMS-IX and NL-IX. The network has a large capacity and has a redundant architecture.

What level of support can I expect from Cloud Provider?

A cloud server is perfect for customers with sysadmin experience, or for customers that would like to learn more about it. Our cloud servers are unmanaged.

What you can expect from us:

• We offer recent versions of a variety of operating systems and software packages, that can be installed on a cloud server.
• Cloud Provider maintains the hardware of the cloud platform, and replaces parts of it when needed.
• We monitor and maintain a fast connection to the internet, within the control of our own network.
• We ensure that the control panel, that you can use to create and manage servers, is available.
• Cloud Provider ensures that every newly created cloud server is reachable using the SSH protocol.
• You can reach out to us via e-mail, online chat, or phone during business hours if you have any questions. We have a 24/7 emergency phone number available outside business hours.

What you should not expect from us:

• Updating the operating system or software on existing cloud servers.
• The installation and configuration of software on a cloud server.
• Supporting users/customers that use the cloud server. A user/customers should contact you in the case they experience issues while using the cloud server.
• Performing system administration tasks. For example, in the case of degraded server performance or in the case of an error in the configuration.
• Creating back-ups. You can create back-ups yourself using our control panel
